I did the playthroughs for nostalgia but it just ended up making me sad. The flame is out, the passion is gone, and I'd rather no more ND games than another assassination of character. I honestly don't know if I want another game. Its just a sad and tragic end, and for those of you who were adults back in the good old days of mid 2000s, I'm sure you didn't see this kind of end for Nancy.

Hell, I'd make Nancy games look like Elden Ring graphics if that's what the fans wanted. But I can tell you, if I had infinite amounts of money, I'd find those original devs, the ones who loved Nancy, and I'd give them whatever they needed to make those kinds of games again. Perhaps she was better as a passion project. Perhaps Nancy was never going to make it in the real world. Watching playthroughs of the old games gave me the same joy as it did all those years ago. Whatever the reason, it's clear that instead of continuing to put their all into the games as they previously had, they slacked. It may have even been finances - I doubt Nancy brought them much revenue. I think HeR did not or would not see what they had. While HeR may have dreamed of being a AAA Company, they had a small but devoted fan base that in turned, raised their children on Nancy. I think its the dreams of a company wanting to make it big.

It's not a lack of source material - Nancy has been on hundreds of adventures and solved many a mystery. SHA was a banger and I genuinely enjoyed TMB (unpopular opinion).Д«ut once we get past those initial 13 games, it's clear the Nancy train is losing steam. Sure, we still got our occasional gems - I genuinely enjoyed ICE and CRY stood on its own as an interesting game.

I feel like the declination in game quality and the passive aggressive and honestly stupid disputes between Nancy and Ned point to HER losing interest in the series long before MID.
